TechCrunch reported that Mezi, founded in 2015 by twin brothers Swapnil and Snehal Shinde, raised a $9 million Series A led by American Express Ventures in July 2016 and in November 2016 narrowed its focus to flights, hotels and restaurant bookings. American Express acquired Mezi on 30 January 2018 for undisclosed terms, making it a wholly owned subsidiary whose technology powered the AskAmex concierge app. The old gomezi.com domain no longer resolves.
