What it does
The listing described Stampsy as a publishing platform that carried art books, fashion magazines, cultural zines and photo journals into a digital, social format, where people shared creative ideas, stories and experiences visually.
What happened next
Stampsy began as an iPad publishing tool: VentureBeat reported an $800,000 seed round in 2012 for co-founders Roman Mazurenko and Sergey Gromov. The web platform launched in late February 2015, and that April Mazurenko told Cult of Mac it had 43,000 users. IBTimes UK reported that Mazurenko was killed in a car accident in Moscow in November 2015, and that his friend Eugenia Kuyda, head of the startup Luka, built a memorial chatbot from his text messages. Stampsy.com still loads under the same name and description, with no dated activity visible.
