The Cologne live chat tool that became Lime Connect.

A Cologne live chat service founded in 2011 that sold 90 percent of itself to Lime Technologies for EUR 19.8 million in 2021 and took the name Lime Connect in September 2025.

Userlike joined Stompstart on 7 December 2014 from Cologne as "Live Chat Software for Websites." Its listing offered a chat window that connected a site's visitors with its service staff "in the moment of greatest need," when a question came up on a product page. It promised to raise conversion rates "by up to 20%" and to create "happy and loyal customers." The page was captured in March 2015.

Userlike later told its early story in a post of 30 April 2021. It began in 2011, the post says, when "we were four guys working on a startup from an unheated apartment building." A crowdfunding round on Seedmatch gave it an early boost, and in 2015 it opened its first proper office, on Aachener Strasse. By 2021, it said, it had passed 1,000 paying customers and grown from 20 to around 40 staff.

On 27 April 2021 Lime Technologies, a Swedish software company, announced that it was buying 90 percent of Userlike for EUR 19.8 million, with options on the remaining 10 percent expected to be exercised in 2023 at four to six times annual recurring revenue. The release named Timoor Taufig as founder and chief executive, put Userlike's 2020 sales at SEK 32 million, and described a product that now gathered website chat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and SMS into one shared inbox. Userlike would keep its own brand; its post that week said its name, product, team and office would stay the same.

The brand lasted four more years. On 9 September 2025 Userlike announced that it was becoming Lime Connect, with the same team, contracts and pricing, and said logins would move to a new domain on 19 September. The old userlike.com address now redirects to Lime Connect, which is titled "Lime Connect (ex Userlike)" and sells chat, messaging and AI tools for customer communication.
