The Barcelona form builder that told users to ask awesomely.
A free Barcelona form and survey builder listed in October 2014 that raised a $15 million Series A in 2015 and $135 million in 2022, and now sells AI-driven forms.
Typeform joined Stompstart on 30 October 2014 from Barcelona, promising "beautiful, cross-device online forms and surveys for free. Ask awesomely!" Each form was a "typeform," and the listing said they mixed "human creativity with the power of modern, cross-device web technology." The free account allowed unlimited questions and responses, answer piping, embeds, basic reporting, spreadsheet export and a data API. PRO added logic jumps, branding removal, file uploads, a payment field, a calculator and hidden fields. The company claimed "hundreds of thousands" of users collecting millions of responses a month. The screenshot uploaded with the listing shows a homepage reading "Asking questions should be easy, human & beautiful" beside a photograph of a dog.
In September 2015 Novobrief reported that Typeform, founded by Robert Muñoz and David Okuniev, had raised a $15 million Series A led by Index Ventures, with earlier backers Point Nine Capital, Connect Ventures and RTA Ventures joining in. The company said it had 50 staff in Barcelona, more than half a million monthly users and €200,000 in monthly recurring revenue, and planned an office in San Francisco. Stompstart's Barcelona page still carried its card in July 2019.
On 10 March 2022 Typeform, which dates its launch to 2012, announced a $135 million Series C led by Sofina, taking its funding to more than $187 million. It reported more than 125,000 business customers and more than 450 employees.
The homepage now reads "Your favorite forms. Now with AI automation." and claims more than 150,000 businesses. In June 2026 the company's blog introduced Growth Flow and Research Flow, which turn form submissions into automated flows. Its about page names Jay Choi as chief executive.
