The London museum app built to rearrange collections for each visitor.
A London startup that digitized museum objects and picked content for each visitor, went through an EU-funded accelerator and said it raised over 60,000 pounds on Seedrs, and was struck off the UK register in March 2018.
Muzeums said in its Stompstart listing that it digitized museums and personalized "their visitor experience, by dynamically rearranging tagged, location based & experiential content." The London startup described two parts. One turned objects into tagged, location-based digital content, compatible with standards such as Europeana and DPLA. The other profiled visitors and picked content to suit them, arranged into anything "from tour guides to realtime interactive social games." Premium customers could brand their own app instead of using a channel in the Muzeums app. The listing was captured in September 2019.
The company behind it, MUZEUMS LTD, was incorporated in London on 7 January 2015 with one director, David Yaakov Lachmish, according to Companies House. A Europeana Pro profile lists "David Pond (Lachmish)" as founder of Muzeums.
On 29 February 2016, SOUL-FI, an accelerator funded by the European Commission, published an interview with Pond, whose company was in its Round B. He called Muzeums "a SaaS solution for museums that manages their entire visitor experience." Over the grant period, he said, "we developed the initial version of the product, initiated our pilot program with selected museums, and raised over £60,000 in equity crowdfunding." He named Seedrs as the platform. Some first customers had signed up for the pilot, and talks with others were continuing.
The company's filing history records a share allotment on 22 February 2016. A first compulsory strike-off notice in December 2016 was discontinued the next day, and a confirmation statement followed in June 2017. A second notice came on 2 January 2018, and the register shows MUZEUMS LTD dissolved by compulsory strike-off on 20 March 2018.
