The 20-second news video app from two New York sisters.

A 2015 New York app for 20-second comic news videos whose founders, sisters Caroline Klatt and Dana Gibber, went on to run Headliner Labs, a retail chatbot company ForwardPMX bought in 2020.

Headliner's Stompstart listing, saved in February 2016, pitched "a user-generated, video news broadcast app, with comedians delivering the news." It worked, the description said, "like a user-generated Daily Show": comedians, musicians and other performers uploaded 20-second clips reading the top headlines, and viewers followed their favorite talent. It was a public beta from New York.

The Next Web covered the iOS launch on 23 November 2015. Clips were sorted by topic, and popular, well-made ones could make it into a Featured section. Co-founder Dana Gibber said Headliner was "redefining the news broadcast for the mobile generation." The article named her co-founder as Lini Klatt; the company's own releases give Caroline Klatt, and its December 2015 release describes the two as sisters. Version 2.5, announced in that release, added a Featured Feed and a leaderboard that reset daily. The app's blog ends with a post on 10 February 2016. In a release that March, the company said Ted Cruz, then seeking the Republican presidential nomination, had joined the app and posted video commentary. The app's terms named OhSayNation, Inc. as its owner and operator, and by November 2016 headlinerapp.com was titled "Start conversations. Get video responses."

Klatt and Gibber were also the founders of Headliner Labs, a New York company that built chatbots and voice shopping tools for brands; its LinkedIn page gives 2015, the year the app launched, as its founding year. Headliner Labs' July 2017 site gave a contact address at the app's headlinerapp.com domain, though no record found shows whether OhSayNation, Inc. became Headliner Labs. On 5 March 2020, ForwardPMX, "a proud member of The Stagwell Group," announced that it had acquired Headliner Labs, naming Saks Fifth Avenue, Cole Haan, European Wax Center and Sally Beauty among the brands it served. Klatt, the chief executive, and Gibber, the chief operating officer, joined ForwardPMX as co-chief innovation officers. The headlinerapp.com domain is now for sale.
