The San Mateo uptime monitor whose last page said "Adios".

A San Mateo uptime monitoring service listed in 2016 that ran unchanged until 2022, then replaced its site with a farewell titled "Adios" that pointed users to Morpheus Data and rivals.

"Don't Worry, Be Happy," began Happy Apps' Stompstart listing, saved in February 2016. The San Mateo service offered "sophisticated real-time monitoring" for apps, databases, IT systems and business services, with alerts that let teams fix incidents "without the noise." Its tagline was "Performance and Uptime Matter."

The company's own site, archived that April, filled in the detail. Checks could watch websites, databases, messaging queues and application servers, and alerts went out by SMS and email. The site said its "unique noise reduction technology" cut unnecessary alerts by consolidating related incidents and muting systems with known issues, and it called Happy Apps the "only service to offer App Grouping Hierarchy," a way to monitor a set of servers and queues as one app. There were iPhone and Watch apps, and the footer read "2016 Happy Apps, LLC." The company's LinkedIn page gives 2015 as its founding year.

Six years on, the pitch was the same. The last archived copy of the working site, from 15 March 2022, carried the same headline, "Keep Your Apps Happy," and the same feature text; only the copyright year had moved, to 2022.

By 7 December 2022 the address held a single page titled "Adios". It read: "Happy Apps is no longer servicing monitoring checks. We would like to thank all of you who decided to use our service. We understand shutting down Happy Apps makes you sad but there are plenty of worthy alternatives out there like Morpheus Data, StatusCake, Pingdom or Uptime." Beneath it sat one button, "Check out Morpheus." The button linked to morpheusdata.com.

No source records exactly when in 2022 the checks stopped. When checked on 28 September 2026, the happyapps.io address still answered under the "Adios" title; by 29 September it failed on an expired security certificate.
