Beegit's farewell is still online.

A Cleveland Markdown workspace for content teams whose makers switched it off on 1 July 2018 and left a plain goodbye in place of the product.

In October 2015, Beegit called itself "the first professional Markdown writing environment built for teams." The Cleveland company's listing described a cloud workspace where content teams were organised into projects with access levels, wrote in a full Markdown editor, and exported with one click to clean HTML, InDesign, Word and ePub. The preserved screenshot shows the product doing exactly that: a file list on the left, an essay titled "The Purpose of Education" in the middle, comments alongside.

Most of the startups in this archive that stopped left no word at all. Beegit left a page. beegit.com now carries a short notice headed "Farewell, Friends": as of 1 July 2018, the Beegit SaaS platform closed, with no login for existing users and no new signups. It thanks the people who used it. It gives no reason and names no successor, and it is signed with a Beegit, LLC copyright from 2018.

That is all it says, and it is still there eight years later.
