A keyboard shortcut inserts dictated text into the active application. The same app can process audio and video files, transcribe calls, and export timed transcripts as text or subtitle files. Users can choose a recognition model and maintain a vocabulary for names and specialist terms. A local MCP server exposes transcription and related controls to compatible coding assistants. Speech recognition stays on the Mac; an optional translation feature sends recognized text to the user's chosen OpenRouter provider.","problem":"Dictation, recording transcription and agent transcription often require separate tools.","audience":["Mac users who dictate or transcribe recordings","Developers connecting local speech tools to coding assistants"],"highlights":[],"website":{"state":"known","url":"https://kekoso.app/"},"access":[{"kind":"download","url":"https://kekoso.app/download"}],"platforms":["macos"],"surfaces":[],"classification":{"categories":["productivity","media","developer-tools"],"stage":"live"},"pricing":{"model":"paid","entry_price":{"amount_minor":2900,"currency":"usd","interval":"one_off"}},"company":{"state":"unknown"},"people":{"state":"unknown"},"location":{"kind":"unknown"},"founded":{"precision":"unknown"},"media":{"logo":{"asset_digest":"sha256:0c8f3ae6f70495e0131f848a202ad6f6d79b61d6328e0a30c0e1fdfbc72d0c88","media_type":"image/png","width":512,"height":512,"alt":"Kekoso's dark rounded-square icon with blue and violet waveform bars","role":"logo","origin":"submitted","origin_digest":"sha256:eec05c906410c2385856c6b788ad082b39a2832013b8c865b200e0f3b9d6f324"},"gallery":[{"type":"image","image":{"asset_digest":"sha256:bd0b6437a50cc5d07382787d976e7419096499e98320ebd962342756e72a3448","media_type":"image/webp","width":1600,"height":1088,"alt":"Kekoso's transcription window with file input and a field for a video link","role":"screenshot","origin":"submitted","origin_digest":"sha256:eec05c906410c2385856c6b788ad082b39a2832013b8c865b200e0f3b9d6f324"}}]},"links":[{"kind":"changelog","url":"https://kekoso.app/changelog/"}],"citations":[{"url":"https://kekoso.app/","title":"Official website","kind":"first_party","retrieved_at":"2026-09-30T23:41:02.638Z","capture_attempt_digest":"sha256:47957eb748ea763ba0635f8d3c89901da8a23ba637920a6102006080929757a8"},{"url":"https://kekoso.app/changelog/","title":"Official changelog documenting the first public release","kind":"other","retrieved_at":"2026-09-30T23:41:02.638Z","capture_attempt_digest":"sha256:f546362b9bbe2cfe52fdce10197ed1e6d1c9e32c08b9615e1082c7cd2a8541d6"},{"url":"https://kekoso.app/favicon.svg","title":"Original vector app logo served by the official website","kind":"other","retrieved_at":"2026-09-30T23:41:02.638Z"},{"url":"https://kekoso.app/shots/transcribe.webp","title":"Official product screenshot","kind":"other","retrieved_at":"2026-09-30T23:41:02.638Z"}],"corrections":[],"authoring_input_digest":"sha256:eec05c906410c2385856c6b788ad082b39a2832013b8c865b200e0f3b9d6f324","contributor_attribution":{"attribution_contract":"stompstart.github-contributor/v1","repository_id":1390750245,"path":"startups/kekoso.yaml","pull_number":34,"head_sha":"1ba9f21aaa3106232dcd923619c767b55d624197","source_digest":"sha256:eec05c906410c2385856c6b788ad082b39a2832013b8c865b200e0f3b9d6f324","author_id":24518569,"author_login":"inklife","license":"CC-BY-4.0"},"revision_digest":"sha256:c540fa473a574c39904e2003af60953d5f75b7478f3ba13ed477a53c8f942327"},"basis":null,"events":[{"record_contract":"stompstart.event/v1","event_id":"evt_4eec9b0fbceb224f388d183f71","startup_id":"stp_f839d94b2458016951a925426b","kind":"first_release","subject":"product","title":"Kekoso's first public release","summary":"Version 1.0 made the Mac dictation and transcription application publicly available.","occurred_on":{"precision":"day","value":"2026-08-31"},"date_basis":"effective","citations":[{"url":"https://kekoso.app/changelog/","title":"Kekoso changelog","kind":"first_party","retrieved_at":"2026-09-30T23:41:02.638Z","locator":"The section headed 1.0, dated 31 August 2026, identifies it as the first public release.","capture_attempt_digest":"sha256:f546362b9bbe2cfe52fdce10197ed1e6d1c9e32c08b9615e1082c7cd2a8541d6"}],"status":{"state":"active"},"corrections":[],"authoring_input_digest":"sha256:eec05c906410c2385856c6b788ad082b39a2832013b8c865b200e0f3b9d6f324","contributor_attribution":{"attribution_contract":"stompstart.github-contributor/v1","repository_id":1390750245,"path":"startups/kekoso.yaml","pull_number":34,"head_sha":"1ba9f21aaa3106232dcd923619c767b55d624197","source_digest":"sha256:eec05c906410c2385856c6b788ad082b39a2832013b8c865b200e0f3b9d6f324","author_id":24518569,"author_login":"inklife","license":"CC-BY-4.0"},"revision_digest":"sha256:63fed48513857482fe456bb04a06395d56b27c518b02a8c9c84d9011cdddf213"}],"nextEventCursor":null,"siteChecks":[],"listings":[],"moreListings":false,"stories":[],"moreStories":false}
